EPW - Unsigned, fusee quarter-hour repeater with jacquemart automaton, 56mm, 18K gold OF original case with casemaker's incuse "PG" marking, spring-loaded gilt cuvette marked "Remontez a Gauche," repeat and automaton function activated by depressing pendant, white enamel central dial surrounded by blue guilloche enamel perimeter with applied multicolor figures, automated woman and man at left and right striking bells in sequence with repeat strike as well as an unusual additional automated dog figure at bottom striking a bell in sequence with strike, KWKS, likely a verge escapement, pierced and scrolled two-footed balance bridge, s#5608 within case. Mvt: GRO, good repeat function and tone apart from some sluggishness of operation and frequent reluctance of right side figure to move arm the last bit of the complete range of motion to contact with bell, overhaul recommended, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, some fine scratches and mild smudge to gilt surface; excellent central white enamel dial with some scattered mild fine scratches and very small surface nicks, surrounding blue guilloche enamel dial with some hls in upper portion, applied figures are excellent; case shows light wear, scratch to lower rear, dent to band at 1:30, some additional dings and lesser small dents to band, ding on bezel near 6, some dings or small dents around perimeter of rear; bow pivots freely; domed glass crystal with some small edge flaking or chipping at one side.
